Collection: Andrew Tozer

Andrew Tozer is a contemporary landscape painter based near Falmouth, Cornwall, and has been represented by Beside The Wave since 1999. He studied at Truro School before attending Falmouth School of Art, the University of Westminster and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. After completing his studies in London, he returned to Cornwall, where he continues to live and work.

Over the past three decades, Tozer has established a reputation as one of the UK’s leading contemporary landscape painters, evolving a distinct and original visual language that is immediately recognisable. His work explores the coast and estuaries of Cornwall, where observation, memory and atmosphere combine to create paintings that evoke the emotional experience of place rather than its literal description. Through a sensitive use of colour, expressive brushwork and simplified forms, Tozer seeks to distil the enduring qualities of light and landscape into images that resonate beyond a single moment.

Throughout his career, Tozer has presented numerous successful solo exhibitions at many of Britain’s leading galleries. His paintings are held in private collections across the United Kingdom, Europe, Africa, North America, Asia and Australia, and are collected by notable figures from the worlds of literature, politics and broadcasting, alongside discerning private collectors.

Widely admired for their quiet atmosphere and emotional depth, Tozer’s paintings continue to attract collectors who value both their painterly quality and their enduring sense of place.
