‘The starting point of my work is usually a moment where I am stirred by beauty or even a feeling or memory of place. It might be the way light breaks through clouds over St Mawes Harbour on a late summer evening, or the glow of a lone sail catching the last warm light off Flushing Quay or a flashback to a day playing on a beach. Such fleeting moments are the catalyst for the paintings in this collection’.
