Collection: Miles Heseltine

Miles Heseltine is a Cornish landscape painter based in Penzance. Born in Cornwall, he studied at Falmouth School of Art before completing a degree in Painting at Norwich School of Art, graduating in 1989. After a period working internationally as a singer and songwriter, he returned to Cornwall and in 2006 relocated to West Penwith, where he continues to live and work.
Heseltine’s practice is rooted in the landscape of West Penwith. Working in an expressive and instinctive manner, his paintings focus on light, weather and the physical presence of the land. His approach balances structure with looser mark-making, informed by observation and an intuitive response to place.
He has exhibited widely in Cornwall and the South West, including participation in the Revolver exhibition at Penzance Art Gallery, and has shown at the Royal West of England Academy.
