Collection: Nicola Mosley
Nicola Mosley is a contemporary landscape painter based in Cornwall. She studied at Parsons School of Design in Paris after moving there in 1990, and later studied Fine Art at The Glassell School of Art, the teaching wing of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, after relocating to Texas in 1997.
Born in Hong Kong, she spent her childhood living by the sea, an influence that continues to inform her practice. She then moved to Cornwall in 2014 and established a studio at Krowji in Redruth before later relocating to a studio overlooking Falmouth Harbour. She furthered her studies at The Newlyn School of Art, completing the fourteen-week landscape painting course, and attended Falmouth Art School’s Summer Intensives in 2016. In 2017 she became an Associate Member of Penwith Gallery, St Ives, exhibiting regularly in selected group shows.
Her work focuses on coastal landscape, characterised by pared-back compositions and close observation of land, sea and sky. Working with restrained palettes and subtle contrasts, she explores atmosphere, light and spatial balance. Her paintings are held in private collections nationally and internationally.
