Collection: Nancy Crewe

Nancy Crewe is a contemporary oil painter based in Falmouth. She graduated with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art from Falmouth University and has been represented by Beside The Wave since 2016. 

Working primarily in oil, Nancy’s practice focuses on landscape and the relationship between painter and environment. She records film footage during journeys by car, train and on foot, using these moving images as source material in the studio. Through a process of layering and reworking, her paintings explore memory, perception and the experience of place.

Her work examines how landscapes are recalled and reconstructed over time, translating recorded journeys into compositions that reflect the shifting and subjective nature of remembering.
