Collection: Helen Carter

Helen Carter is a contemporary painter and printmaker based in Bristol. She has been represented by Beside The Wave since 2018. Helen completed a BA (Hons) in Fine Art at Falmouth University in 2014.

Her practice spans painting and printmaking, with a focus on process, materiality and image layering. Working from drawings and photographs made on location often during return visits to Cornwall—she develops paintings in the studio through a repetitive and experimental approach to mark making.

"My paintings are tangible mementos of journeys of escapism and meditation. Similarly, I hope that my work can provide a contemplative space for the viewer, encouraging stillness and inviting their own quiet journeys through the pieces"
