An
exhilarating collection of works from Cornwall's leading
landscape artists is showcased at Beside The Wave's prestigious
Easter Show which opens on Good Friday, March 21st 2008.
In
new ownership for the first time in two decades, Beside
The Wave is set to consolidate its standing as one of
the UK's leading landscape galleries. With a reputation
for showing outstanding representational works of the
coast, countryside as well as urban landscapes, the
spring collection showcases works from both established
artists and, excitingly, previews two outstanding new
signings - Miles Heseltine and John Raynes.

John Raynes is a nationally celebrated portrait artist
who, for the first time ever, is directing his creative
energies towards the Cornish landscape. These works
are tranquil symphonies of light and form that capture
and abstract the quintessential landscapes of Cornwall.
In contrast, Miles Heseltine's works have an intensity
of expression and energy that has formed works that
are vivid, powerful and completely captivating. Showing
for the first time in two decades Heseltine is already
making waves with critics and collectors alike, and
is being hailed as 'one to watch.'
In addition, brand new works by outstanding gallery
artists include a stunning orchard painting by Robert
Jones, an artist whose range and abilities have long
been recognised and widely acclaimed. His new works
reflects ever greater depths of insight and expression,
their surfaces shining with a rare depth, richness and
luminosity.

Neil

'Clouds and Sun, Mounts Bay' which captures a dramatic
winter sky as sunlight pools through the clouds and
onto the dark green sea.

cliffs and the sparkling white Atlantic seas that have
shaped them.

The
show also provides an increasingly rare opportunity
to purchase new works by Ted Dyer, who has provided
key collections for the Gallery for almost two decades
now, and whose work continues to have both a huge following
and enduring appeal.

and Daffodils
by
Emma Jeffryes

A delightful collection of Emma Jeffryes work rounds
off the show, with the spring blue of St. Ives harbour
offset by vases of daffodils, primroses and anemones;
seagulls, fishing boats and the open sea are all quintessential
Jeffryes and capture the joys of Spring at Beside The
Wave.
